The Bath Iron Works of Maine delivered an anchor weighing 13,625 pounds in May 1930. The anchor sits today at the entrance of the Glover Landing Condo Complex.

In the late 1930s, the Hotel Rockmere fell on hard times as customers started changing their vacation choices. Automobiles and highways gave them far more choices. The hotel was sold in 1937 to the Fox and Hounds Club of Boston and it was renamed the Hotel Marblehead. The hotel was re-sold in 1941 to Resort Hotels, Inc. owned and operated by the Vacassouvich family of Marblehead. Later in 1958 the property became the Quarterdeck Yacht Club, but closed in 1963. It stood empty until 1965, but was demolished to make way for the Glover Landing complex.

The condo complex has a professional management company. There is a private beach, dock, and a club room. There is also off-street parking. Great location as it provides a private setting, but the downtown is very accessible for stores, restaurants, and shops.
