Salem, MA - So Much More Than Witches
Salem, MA - Amazing City
Whenever people think of Salem, MA they most likely think of the famous Witch Trials. This has become the “Brand” of the city as the streets get flooded with tourists during the month of October. Thousands and thousands of visitors roam the streets in witch costumes. The Witch Museum has people lined up around the corner waiting to explore the dark side of Salem. Traffic jams are throughout the city with shortages of places to park. People are encouraged to take public transportation. The Boston & Maine train drops passengers off right in the heart of the city.
What is most likely is visitors drive away never really getting a true taste of this incredible city. There is so much more than the Witch Museum. There are dozens and dozens of colonial period classic historical homes lining the streets. Two of our favorite streets include Chestnut and Essex. Best way to explore these streets is to simply walk down their wide streets on the brick sidewalks lined with tall trees with branches hanging like canopies. It is like you’re walking back in time. Incredible architecture with so many details. Beautiful front doors and welcoming entrances. What a gift it is to see up-close and personal these works of art. If by chance you want some great historical information we suggest you take one the walking tours. For those of you that would rather ride, there is a Salem Trolley service that also provides a guided tour.
