We were fortunate enough to be asked to publish a family of interior, exterior, and aerial photographs as well as a video of a new real estate listing at 13 Tucker Street. What is so special about this listing is it is located in the historic district referred to as “Old Town” Marblehead, MA

Old Town Marblehead is a 2,300-acre historic district with boundaries of Marblehead Harbor, Waldron Court, Essex, Elm, Pond, and Norman Streets. In all, there are 988 buildings. Some of them were are from the 1600s and about 200 were built before the American Revolution. The architectural styles include Georgian, Federal, and Queen.

The streets are narrow with twisting turns. Most of the homes are packed in close and in some cases actually connected. It is an extraordinary experience to walk the streets and explore the adventure of wondering what is around the corner. Owning a home in “Old Town” is owning a piece of history.

This listing was not going to be easy to photograph and video. The street is narrow and the homes are packed in together, which is charming but it is our responsibility to capture the personality and spirit of the home. This listing is three stories high on a very narrow street with the front of the building right up close to the street. It took some planning and creativity to position our camera and drone to provide the listing agent and owner the photograph they were looking for to use in their promotional information. Flying the drone took some concentration in order to keep control of it’s flight pattern while capturing photographs and videos.

The location of 13 Tucker Street is exceptional as it is extremely close to Marblehead Harbor, restaurants, shops, and parks. All right out the door. The big plus is it is not a heavily traveled road by cars. Tucker Street has some amazing homes on each side all with their unique design and history. It is far from the “cul-de-sac” neighborhoods we often find.

If you’re looking for something unique and far from ordinary and want to live on an amazing street that will capture your imagination this is the property for you. Just be prepared to realize these old homes have smaller rooms and lower ceilings than you might be used to. Not everything might be level or square, but that is part of the charm.

The three bedrooms and two and a half baths will provide the space you need. The bathrooms have been modernized and the kitchen as well. From the upper windows, you can see the harbor and capture the breezes. The back yard is very private and provides a wonderful place to relax or have a meal.

The two real estate agents, Team Zabar-Shulkin, that listed the property did an excellent job of working with the owner to prepare the home for the market place. It requires a long list of inconvenient decisions to continue living in a home when you’re trying to get it ready to be sold. Scheduling a time when the weather and lighting will cooperate adds another dimension. it is always a pleasure to work with real estate agents that understand these challenges. It is a delicate balance of trying to do their job and disrupting the owner’s life at a minimum.
