Sonar Fleet Races Marblehead, MA

While out on the water in Marblehead, MA, we came across a wonderful sight of seeing a fleet of Sonar boats involved in a race. Generally, we have seen the Sonar’s involved in Team Racing, which is why you will see the various colors on the sails. It is our understanding the Boston Yacht Club, Eastern Yacht Club, and Corinthian Yacht Club all agreed to purchase three Sonars that each club can use for a variety of reasons.

Not sure what the races were about this particular day, but we were delighted to see the activity. The weather was beautiful as the sun finally came out. The clouds provided a great back drop. The decision by these three clubs was a great one as it opens up the door for a variety of people with all skill levels. Great way to promote and encourage sailing.
