Mako 211 Center Console For Sale
For Sale - Mako 211 Center Console w/ V6 Yamaha 200
We were recently requested to photograph a used Mako 211 in Winchester, MA that was going on the market. It was an early spring day, which is generally when boat owners are listing their boats for sale. Buyers as a rule, do not want to deal with the storage of a boat in New England over the winter. The spring season is like a wake-up call for potential buyers to begin their search for a boat.
We never know what to expect in terms of the overall condition. Other concerns include… will the boat be “photo ready”, will the boat have a cover on it, is the boat sandwiched in a boatyard between other boats, or is it sitting on a yard or driveway that make it a challenge to photograph? All of these unknown variables have taught us to expect the unexpected.
In this particular case, the boat was sitting in the owners driveway surrounded by a few cars and fences in a somewhat congested neighborhood. The good news was the boat was extremely clean with no cover on it. The owner had put some work into in terms of cleaning and making sure it was protected during the winter months. Over night the trees had dropped some buds on it, but the owner was kind enough to get his leaf blower out to remove as many as he could.
What immediately stood out was the contrast with the white topsides and deck with the woodwork. It jumped right out at us and looked sharp. We could tell the owner had taken great care of the overall condition. The stainless steel features sparkled and looked well maintained. Lots of nice storage space and racks for fishing gear. The V6 Yamaha 200 HP engine should provide plenty of power for this boat. The fuel lines looked almost new. Normally you might find the propeller to have some damage, but it appeared in great shape.
The big plus selling feature of this boat is the quality of the trailer. It is a double axle trailer that presents a very stable and sturdy trailer. There were lots of protective rollers, the boat fit extremely well on it, tail lights in great shape, and the trailer connection was in great condition.
The hull and topsides, as far as we could tell, did not show and signs of damage or cracks. Could not see the condition of the bottom because it was sitting on the trailer. From what we learned, the boat did not sit at a marina slip or mooring. Generally, it was pulled out of the water after every use. No idea how many owners have been involved or the annual maintenance. Always a good thing to ask for written records.
