6 Rolleston Road - Marblehead, MA

We were recently contacted to provide interior, exterior, and aerial photographs/video of a home tucked away on a very secluded road off of Atlantic Avenue on 6 Rolleston Road - Marblehead, Ma. The information we received was it was a property that had been remodeled. This always captures our curiosity because we never know what to expect.

It is listed as a 5 bedroom home that was originally built in 1930. There are 3.5 bathrooms and 3,526 square feet of living space on a 19,600 square foot lot.

It was quite obvious the remodel construction directed efforts to pay attention to a long list of details that are often overlooked. The emphasis on the re-design was on simple, straightforward architecture, but adding a flair with the angles, lines, and a sophisticated style all its own. The bright white siding, trim, and molding in contrast with the sea blue front door invited you to explore. We would not describe this property to be that of uncompromising elegance, but rather a wonderful property that fit the personality and spirit of the seacoast town of Marblehead.

It is nestled in the neighborhood, but the flat oversized driveway and two-car garage provide a wonderful entrance of ease. The front walkway guides you right to the inviting front entrance. The design appears to have been a challenging, but rewarding process. The goal was to have a timeless and classic home.

Open Floor Plan

As we walked in through the front entrance we were amazed at the open floor plan. There was an even seamless flow from the dining, living, and kitchen space. Our eyes were also drawn to the crown molding and trim detail. The hardwood floors, white walls, recessed lighting, new doors/hardware, and a wonderful gas fireplace provided a welcoming spirit.

Oversized Kitchen

The oversized kitchen island plays a key role in setting the stage where family and friends will congregate. Beautiful kitchen cabinets with nautical themed hardware, Bosch gas stove, oven, refrigerator, and a wonderful separate wine cooler altogether just make this a kitchen people will enjoy preparing meals and having a simple cup of coffee or glass of wine.

Home Office

One of the almost must-have features these days is a special home office space. Sure enough, right on the first floor, there is a great space for an office.

The Bedrooms

On the second floor, there is a spacious primary bedroom. Beautiful windows that allow in lots of natural light. Plenty of space for all sizes and shapes of bedroom furniture including a comfortable sitting area. There is a wonderful ensuite bathroom, double sinks, glass shower, and soaking tub. Top all of this off there is a walk-in closet with plenty of custom shelves.

On the second floor, we also found three additional bedrooms. Each bedroom had wonderful hardwood floors, beautiful trim/molding, recessed lights, and exceptional windows to allow plenty of light and breezes. The three additional bedrooms all share a full bathroom.

On the third floor, there is a great versatile space that can be used as another bedroom, office, or fitness room. It even has its own full bathroom.

Two-Car Garage

The minute we stepped foot in the two-car oversized garage we were amazed at the beautiful floor. The electric door garage opener would make life easy to pull in and step right out with immediate access close to the kitchen. Bringing groceries home would be far easier. Special features that are easily overlooked include a support beam going across the garage to eliminate the need for a pole in the middle of the garage and there is an actual smaller heater if needed. Custom-built cabinets and hooks provide a nice solution to store clothing.

With more and more people working from home having a pool took on an entirely new pleasure for many. With the property sitting at the end of a dead-end street the pool area has created a private sanctuary. The added bonus is the pool house to store any pool furniture or space to go when the weather might turn.

A wonderful Remodel

It is always a delicate balance working with property owners. In this particular case, the owner has over the years purchased several homes and remodeled them. This was not his first remodeling property as we could tell from the level of details he incorporated into the home. As we looked closely at the craftsmanship, the custom trim/molding, hardware, quality of the appliances, cabinets, countertops, bathroom fixtures, and paint job, we knew he was passionate about making this a high-quality home without cutting corners.

The real estate agent wanted to exhaust all efforts to put this property in the best position in the real estate market. To effectively represent the property she had to make sure she was well aware of the level of details in order to separate it from other properties. She and the owner had worked closely together to include features and amenities that buyers are looking for at every level. This property is what many would call “turn-key”.
