How far in advance do potential renters inquire about a villa rental before their expected arrival date?

For the past two years, we have collected the data of when we receive an actual inquiry about a short term villa rental as compared to the anticipated arrival date. What came as a surprise was that 10% of our inquires were generated on the same month the client was hoping to arrive. It was good to see that at least 47.5% of the inquiries were for clients to arrive in the 6-12 month time period.

Planning the logistics of a short term villa rental takes a great deal of time and energy. The more time in advance allows improved planning. Details include: Flights, car rentals, provisions, and activities. The more research and planning that can be done in advance the better.

In addition, if you wait to the last month or two your villa rental options become far more limited as others will have already booked many of the villas.
