The Corinthian Yacht Club was established in 1885 by C.H.W. Foster and Benjamin W. Crowninshield. Their goal was to attract sailors that owned boats between sixteen and thirty feet. Word is Eastern Yacht Club was not interested in boats less than thirty feet.
