Much of his time is currently focused on the island of St. Martin. Phil requested the help from Joshua Hendricks to compose the customized music to compliment his video. The video provides a very engaging aerial view of Terres Basses, which is a neighborhood of St. Martin.
Terres Basses was developed and promoted by Carimo Real Estate & Villa Rentals. It was often described as a destination within a destination. The owner of Carimo was determined to create a neighborhood on the island that could compete in terms of luxury with the island of St. Barts. Interesting enough, the owners brother established Sibarth Real Estate & Villa Rentals on St. Barts. It was clear to us, Carimo was determined to develop a neighborhood in St. Martin that represented a great investment opportunity with dozens and dozens of high quality properties. Terres Basses was the neighborhood.
The Carimo Villas were far more spacious than the majority of villas on St. Barts. The bedrooms and bathrooms were massive by comparison. Each villa that Carimo was involved in had a series of quality standards with no exceptions. They incorporate a “U” shaped design that had the bedrooms on the sides and the the kitchen and living space at the base. The swimming pool was in the middle. The concept was to have the bedrooms designed with parity in mind - five star furnishings - large ensuite bathrooms - and fantastic views. The overall theme was to have seamless inside/outside living.
Terres Basses continues to be a “preferred” luxury destination. It is all because of the vision of Carimo Real Estate & Villa Rentals. Carimo did the “heavy lifting”.
The owners of Carimo Real Estate & Villa Rentals, after decades of being in business, decided to retire. They sold it to Caribbean Way, which is now known by the name Luxury Retreats. Luxury Retreats later was sold to Airbnb. The business platform of Airbnb was a far cry from the hands on local business model of Carimo Real Estate & Villa Rentals. Airbnb decided to simply close down Carimo Real Estate & Villa Rentals. We were extremely disappointed that Carimo sold to Luxury Retreats because it totally changed the fabric of the villa rental distribution platform. Luxury Retreats was a distributor of villa rental inventory. They simply take content of villas (photographs & descriptions) and publish them on their website as villa rental inventory. The villa rental business needs companies like Carimo that oversee the development and management of the villa rental inventory.
At Generating Media, we have had a long journey of being directly involved with the pioneers of the villa rental business. The villa rental business today would not be what it is without companies like Carimo Real Estate & Villa Rentals, Sibarth Real Estate & Villa Rentals, Mclaughlin Anderson Luxury Villas, Bajan Services, just to name a few.
