Island of St. Martin Hit with Hurricane Irma in September 2017
On September 27, 2017 the island of St. Martin/St. Maarten was hit extremely hard by hurricane Irma. The damage was severe for hundreds of homes and businesses. Because the island depends so much on tourists it was a challenge because of all the destroyed homes, resorts, and infrastructure. It was extremely difficult to communicate the condition.
As the island started to recover tourists wanted to be well informed about the condition so they knew what to expect. Phil Brown, who is part of the Generating Media Team, decided to publish the video below on December 2018 that provided a close look of the recovery. We applauded him for publishing this video in such detail so tourist could make informed decisions about the possibility of visiting the island.
Obviously the island had not completely recovered, but at least this video provided an honest overview so tourist could manage their expectations. Traveling to a destination and renting a villa is always a risk. This is especially true if you’re not provided with accurate content.
At Generating Media, we make it a point to provide as much relevant and timely content as possible. This video is great example of the effort and energy our team puts into providing protection of clients having a mis-adventure.
It might be time to publish an up-to-date video!
